WELCOME TO CELLAR 152
Established in 2015, Cellar 152 is the culmination of gourmet food, wine and an appreciation for Northern Michigan and the hidden treasure of Elk Rapids. Surrounded by beautiful clear water and sandy beaches, this small, quaint town is boosted by the fierce pride of its residents and the friendly footprint of its visitors. Buoyed by the delicious food creations and wine selections, Cellar 152 was conceived to be River Street’s destination for a casually modern gathering place, offering gourmet food & wine, specialty foods and distinguished home accents.
Michiganders, Mark and Kerri Wayne had been visiting Elk Rapids for over a decade. They found Elk Rapids to be a special place and wanted to be part of sharing it with others. Their idea was to bring a gourmet market and gathering place into the center of town. In 2014, the building at 152 River Street was purchased and, over the next twelve months, it was completely renovated to preserve the design and architecture of the original structure.
Cellar 152 was born!
Our location at 152 River Street has a storied and varied history as a place of commerce in Elk Rapids. Built in 1901, the building became home to the Mitchell Brothers barbershop and since then has housed a multitude of ventures including: cigar factory, bakery, restaurant, Elk Rapids Pool Room and photography studio, among others.
